Across Armenia on Bike

Day 1: Arrival /Tsahkadzor (cycling distance 20-25 km)

Arrival in Yerevan. Transfer to Tsahkadzor. Accommodation at the hotel.A short rest. After breakfast start cycling tour around Tsahkadzor. An easy walk with a bicycle in the vicinity Tsakhkadzor is located in a picturesque valley on the eastern slope of Mt Tegenis to 1845 m. above sea level. "The Valley of Flowers" (Tsahkadzor) is in contrast to many other resorts, while attractive in both winter and summer times.


Lunch, dinner in the hotel in Tsakhkadzor.

Day 2: Tsahkadzor - Village Bjni -Tsahkadzor (cycling distance 50-55 km) A-B-A

After breakfast the route leads us through the old road in the direction of the villages of Bjni and Aghveran. Aghveran is one of the picturesque towns of Armenia and is know with its mild climate and picturesque landscapes of the surrounding mountains. When visiting the village of Bjni that is on the right bank of the River Hrazdan lies the ruins of the fortress of 9-10cc. which you will climb on foot. Accommodation and dinner in the hotel in Tsahkadzor.


Lunch is planned on the road.
Duration - 4,5-5 hours.

Day 3 :Tsahkadzor – Lake Sevan–Dilijan – Monastery Gosh (cycling distance 75-80 km) A-C

After breakfast we cycle to the resort town of Dilijan. Visit unique Sevanavank monastery (9th c.) on the peninsula which used to be an island. Next we cycle up to the monastery of Goshavank. Above the river Agstev sits Goshavank. The local terrain and the landscape will determine the composite characteristics of this complex. Here you can see unique Armeniankhatchkars(cross-stones).

Day 4: Monastery Gosh - Lake Sevan (cycling distance 80-85 km) C-D

After breakfast, the path takes us on a bicycle route in the direction of the hotel Tsapatagh. The last part of path leads through the main highway along the beach of Lake Sevan.

Day 5 : Lake Sevan - village Areguni - Martuni town (cycling distance 85-90 km) D-E

After breakfast, we cycle from hotel Tsapatagh through the village Areguni in the direction of the city of Martuni. Mainly, the route leads through the main highway along the beach of Lake Sevan. Cars cross these roads very seldom as you will mainly cycle on dirt road. On the way we will visit оldcuneiform writings in the village Artsvanist.

Day 6 :Martuni town - Selim Pass - Eghegnadzor city (cycling distance 60-65km) E-F

After breakfast we drive 5-6km on bus from Martuni. Visit the amazingly intact medieval Selim Caravanserai, an important trading center on the Great Silk Road. In the Middle Ages many buildings were built in Armenia. One of these, the Selim caravanserai, according to an inscription in Armenian and Arabic was in 1332 by Prince ChesarOrbelian built. Selim is an excellent example of the Armenian secular architecture of the Middle Ages. We continue the tour into the city of Eghegnadzor.

Day 7: Yeghegnadzor - Noravank Monastery –Yerevan city (cycling distance 75-80 km) F-G

After breakfast we drive from Eghegnadzor to visit the monastery of Noravank. The monastery of Noravank (13th century) is the UNESCO World Heritage List endure. Noravank( "New monastery") . After exploring the area we advise to continue route by bus, till the KhorVirapmoastery. From where we can continue our way to Yerevan again on bikes.

Day 8: Yerevan city - Garni Village - Monastery Geghard - Yerevan city (cycling distance 75-80 km) G-H-G

In the village of Garni you will visit the Hellenic - pagan temple Garni (1 AD). The citadel and pagan temple Garni is a picturesque temple from the Hellenistic period and an impressive piece of ancient Armenian architecture. It was built in the first century AD by the Armenian king Tiridates and was dedicated to the god of sun. Continue cycling to Geghard cave monastery (13th century), which is inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage List.

Day 9 : City tour in Yerevan

City tour around Yerevan.Lunch in a local restaurant. Visit to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial park and museum of the victims of Genocide. In the second half of the day your main attraction will be Armenian History Museum, here the important archaeological collection from Stone Age through Medieval periods is dark and almost unlabeled, but should not be missed. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 10: Departure

Transfer to the airport. Departure home!
