Noratous - ancient cemetery with medieval khachkars (cross-stones) dating back to 6th c. It is the biggest cemetery of khachkars (cross-stones) in Armenia, dating back to the 9th -10th centuries. Here are more then 2000 xachkars dating back to the different ages. Here is fortress built in the 3rd -1s millennium B.C. The walls of the fortress are built of crude basalt rocks, 3-4 meters thivk. This place is world-wide famous. Xachkars are the treasures of Armenian unique art, the mysterious of which is that you can't find any two similar xachkars.
