History Museum - founded in 1919 this unique museum catches all the visitor’s attentions. Here one can see a real Armenian soul and spirit, ability to live and survive through thousands of cruel centuries. Situated in the centre of Yerevan the museum has about 400.000 exhibitions, over 5000 of which are on a permanent display and lately the nice collection was completed with the oldest shoe in the world which was made of cowhide and tanned with oil from a plant or vegetable, it is about 5,500 years old, older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids, scientists say.
